Bill,
I believe that the purpose of soaking iris seeds is to remove a germination
inhibiting enzyme in the outer shell.
That enzyme is to keep them from sprouting in their arid natural habitat
until they have had enough rain to give them a chance to grow. Isn’t nature wonderful to take care
of things like that? I call it God. Of course, if I had known how it was
