Hey Donald !

Wow, 1300 seeds, that is an impressive amount.  As far as the 
THORNBIRD seedling of your cross will look like, I'd say anything 
goes. The purple standards and red falls from the THORNBIRD x TRIPLE 
WHAMMY cross proves it.  Seems to be a lot of fun as a breeder but I 
didn't use it this year due to a terrible storm we had.

Prepared space issues are here as well, I just dug a 10' x 20' bed 
that took me almost an entire day to complete and there's more to go 
so I can plant seedlings.  At least I have space for the 
Superstition order when it gets here in the next day or two. I 
haven't ordered for three years now so I'm anticipating that 
distinctive smell that comes from a large box of Irises when you 
open it up for the first time.

BTW, your TBIRD seedling did have the odd bloom or two with those 
tiny spoons at the end of the horn.  I'm still not convinced that 
it's entirely happy here though, it doesn't grow like wild fire here.

Oddly enough, my three rhizomes of EAGLE CONTROL grew seemingly out 
of control but not a single bloom stalk.  The more I look at my 
Daylilles and hostas blooming right now, the more I realize how 
difficult the modern Irises have been to take care of up here.  I 
always liked a challenge though :-)
