Re: HYB: SAGE:: some general comments: April Jewel

Cathy,  Re: your comment about April Jewel being on the recommended list:  April Jewel is deffinately a Space Age iris.  At my place, it almost always has small fuzzy horns.  I have tried to use it as a parent, but have never found any pollen on it, and my efforts to pollenate it all failed.  It's beautiful and one of my best irises.  Has anyone been able to use it as a parent?

Burseens ICE FOR BRICE  might be an example of why balence is needed, especially in paler tones. Its beautiful with its heavy lacing and ruffling with a heavily laced polyflounced rosette but you do have to look at it closely to appreciate all the details. I hope to post some photos of extended BSE on APRIL JEWEL which should put it on the recommended list.
