My cross of Patricia Claire X Special Feature produced a (small) pod,
but after just a few weeks it's already turned brown and started to
shrivel up. Figuring it was a goner, I pulled it off and opened one
end to see what had happened. There are a bunch of immature seeds
inside. Is there anything I can do? Should I let the pod sit and
see if they mature any more? Plant them? Give up? I'm bummed -
I thought that would have made an interesting cross...
As far as SAGE-specific crosses go, I crossed Doctor No with a
whole bunch of stuff, but didn't get a lot of takes. That was the
only "official" SAGE cultivar that bloomed for me this year.
My records are all at home, so I can't remember the pollen parents
offhand, but I have a big fat pod on Doctor No, a nice purple pod on
Innocent Star, and pods on Cin Cin and Genetic Artist. We'll see
what comes of them :-)
