Neil;I'm having very little success in getting the SAGE crosses even made. Rain, thunderstorms and more human distractions intrude. My last blooms with which some of the planned crosses were to have been made are fading today. There's always next year.Neil Mogensen, z 7 western NC mountains.
I am surprised you aren't considering rebloom crosses. If your tb's are in the fading stages already I would think your clime would support rebloom.
Our crushing heat wave here on the Pacific coast has also reduced the possibilities for SAGE crosses. Pods from crosses after april 17th only reached grape size before withering up. The heat did exaggerate SA effects so that I did learn a lot.It really sharpened my focus on where to go and how to get there.Next year, weather permiting, I hope to experiment using side by side clumps with half in mini-greenhouses so they are grown 12-15 degrees hotter than the control group.
