Re: [SpaceAgeRobin] BSE?

Michael,

Good photos.  SOLAR FIRE has gone back to putting up some spine horns where the scar is located.  CONJURATION is blooming without horns and no sign of any kind of BSE.  It appears to be just a normal beard with no membrane, extension or added thickness in the area beyond the beard.  It is very sporadic about giving appendages here.  Usually the first bloom and maybe the second bloom if it gives them at all.  EAGLE CONTROL is maintaining the horns pretty well this year.  A couple of blooms have missed a horn on one fall and one bloom had no horns, but mostly they have been there.  Those that are missing the horn just look like normal beards to me, as in CONJURATION.  Maaaybe a pod forming on SF and EC via the T'bird seedling.  Not hopeful about the seedling setting a pod.  Used the sdlg pollen on CONJURATION, but too soon to tell if there's any hope.  The pollen didn't look great, so the 'maybe' pods may wither in a week or so.  Those are all for the TB SAs here.  The others are skipping bloom this year.

Donald;

Sounds like Mother Nature has plans for you to do something else this summer. I trust this is weather related? I got a note from Roger Duncan that they got 35 " of rain this year. Thats 175%  of their normal 20. No info on how it may have affected their bloom though. A late rain storm left some pretty soggy blooms but I will spend one more day at crosses. Pods set from this late in the year usually don't make it through the summer heat. If I had half a wit about me I would plan next years crosses and move them to a bed I can keep under shade cloth!!

Michael M. Stockton Ca. pleasant 78 degree days, very mild spring except for a week of 80's in March.
