Re: Squash flowering

Hi Frank.. well.. I don't know if I'd be of any help.. this is my first
year gardening ( and I love it!) When you say squash do you mean
Zucchini?? I planted some myself.. they are HUGE now! ( about 2 1/2 feet
wide!).. I have a question maybe you can answer.. I have been hearing
about Borers (??) and how do I know if I have them?? I looked at the
base of my plants and they are dark green and have some white on them..
didn't see any bug on them.. but I really don't know what I am looking
for.. all the stems look pretty healthy and the plants aren't drooping..
but I also planted cucumber and they pretty much all died out.. I also
heard that the same borer that eats cucumber eat zucchini.. is there
some way to prevent them from infesting my garden??

anyway.. Hope New York is going great..live in sunny SoCal myself..
don't think we here in Cali would know frost even if it came up and bit
us on the ol behind..heehee..well maybe we would.. heehee..
