Janet, Janet, Janet,
You must be new to explosive gardening techniques. Dynamite is for
wabbits.
(see "Elmer Fudd's, Guide to Contwolling Wabbits")
Gophers are controlled by water. (see "Caddyshack")
Of course, since you have them in your pocket, try using Tide. (That's a
whole lot of water).

Seriously though, I seem to remember something about the University of
Michigan or some University in that neck of the woods that came up with
the idea of driving a metal stake into the ground and simply hanging an
empty one gallon plastic milk bottle on it. Apparently, the vibrations
that are caused by the wind knocking the bottle around, drives them crazy
enough to make them want to go elsewhere.
     Hey, couldn't hurt to try.
Honest, I am not making this up. I am not trying to make your
garden look as ridiculous as mine.(pyramids, christmas tree lights).
Sheila, have you ever seen this setup in the farmers fields? I
remember going to visit some friends in Cass, (the directions said to
turn right in Niles, if I remember correctly). I did see the milk bottle
scheme in at least 2 fields. Of course that was about 25 years ago I
think.
