Hi, I've never used blood meal for that purpose, but in some of my other
chat groups, people write in constantly about their success with using it
to repel deer. I no longer use blood meal for anything, because it
attracted our cats into the garden, where they scratched around and would
actually try to lick it from the soil if I hadn't mixed it in. Of course,
they gnawed their way into the boxes in the garage and ate it over the summer.

For those of you who have problems with squirrels and rabbits, I recently
read that wearing gloves, so as not to leave a human scent on one's plants,
will help with squirrels, as they are attracted by the human scent. A
sprinkling of baby powder supposedly repels rabbits. Can't vouch for
either of these tips.
