Hello...
My asparagus were like yours (two year roots, etc.), same time frame as
yours as well. In Texas, mine came up a couple of months ago. At the
time, I was told to harvest all for two weeks and then let the remaining
fern out. Next years harvest should be a little more than this year...but,
to follow the same rules for the exception of harvesting for 3 weeks next
year. The following year....the asparagus will be plentiful!!
I think that you will see an increase in the amount of asparagus that is
produced each year.
Mine have gone totally crazy this year...and after harvesting all for two
weeks, the ferns that are growing now are twice the size they were last year.
Hope this was helpful...good luck...and good eating!
