I think that storing food in sterilised glass jars is called "canning"
throughout the U.S. My mother's from Pennsylvania with roots in New
England and my father's from Texas. I've lived in all four corners of
the U.S. (Tenn, Az, N.J. and Washington) and everyone I've encountered
calls it "canning".
Tonight's menu: Grilled potatoes, scallops sauteed with garlic, onion
and parsley in white wine, and salad (lettuce, carrot, onion). All the
veg and herbs from the garden!
