Always nasturtiums, calendulas, and johnny jump ups. Sometimes we squeeze
guacamole into the center of each nasturtium bloom, through a cookie press.
Usually, though, we shred everything into a salad, and it looks really
pretty, and it adds a nice flavor. Also, we always have all these violets
growing in the lawn, and we pick some of the flowers when they're around,
to put in salads. Also, we use sorrel that shows up as a weed in the
garden. You can chop it up with some onion, and mix it into yogurt or non
fat sour cream and a little salt, and it's real good. Also, my daughter
coats some of the violets and also leaves of lemon scented and rose scented
geraniums with powdered sugar, and we use them on cakes. Of course, we also
have tons of different kinds of mint, and lemon balm that we always use for
tea, and also to mix in with bulgur in salad. I'm sure there are others,
but i can't think of them right now. _Lauren, Z.6 NY
