After reading about the straw bales to put heat into the ground, it got
me to thinking.
Has any body tried putting in the ground one of the heat tape things that
they use on the roofs of houses to stop ice dams by the rain gutters? I
saw one for sale at the local home center (Home Depot) for about $50.00.
It said that it will heat up to about 50 degrees F. It must be
waterproof to sit exposed on the roof like that. It said that it is
100ft long.
This may have possibilities in the garden. Along with mini
greenhouses, we maybe able to extend our growing season.
Please put you two cents in. Together we may come up with something
really good, or save us some money before we start.
