Stan's hot tomato

Well, I couldn't wait. I sealed the bulbs in the string of lights
with my glue gun. I then turned them on for half an hour to see if the
heat from the bulbs would melt the glue. The glue held fine. Maybe a
little softer than with no heat, but I don't think this will be a problem
at all.
So I took the string of lights out to the garden and buried them
under about 2 inches of garden soil. All in a straight line, just to
test for a couple of days to see if anything goes wrong. I did not cover
the bulbs with aluminum foil as I realized that these bulbs are made to
withstand snow on them. The soil was semi-moist. Well, more dry than
wet. If they don't blow a fuse in two days, I will water them to see if
they can take that. (I will unplug them first so that I can't
electrocute myself). I think that is one of the big hurdles to overcome.
No sense going further until I get this part right.
     Remember, suggestions are welcome.

Stan. The cheap and lazy gardener.
