Re: hybrids in reference to?

Thanks to everyone for replying to me re: Hybrids.

I will try to explain this so called radio program I heard about NON
Hybrids. It is pretty much Millenium related, meaning that the person
talking was trying to educate people in "saving their seeds" to plant
each each year (from non-hybrid), she was talking about year 2000 beyond
and future problems with computers stopping and What if's? such as what
if the computers stop and now that Union Pacific and Southern Pacific
trains have merged (and still don't know how to merge their computers)
they may not be able to deliver food around the nation due to computer
problems, therefore creating major shortages in our food supply, the
catalogs are also on computer systems, so how would you by your seeds?
and if the stores are out of food then people would rush to buy what was
left as far as seeds go, would there be any left for me or anyone else.
So the idea is to grow our food (what we can, at least) and to not rely
on who will deliver to us. Wow when I heard this program I was blown
away.

So to simplify things Geri Guidetti, I believe her name is educates
people on being self suffient and growing non hybrids and saving your
seeds for the next crop, kinda like they did in ancient times that way we
learn to feed ourselves and not rely on computers that control the world.
Technology is great but is partially responsible for somethings going
wrong.

Anyway that is why I brought this issue up! It makes a whole lotta sense
to me and hope to many others, but anyway I have joined this list because
I am a novice gardner and want to learn tips from many of you experts and
I do admire you.
