RE: potatoes

Carleen mentioned a spud cellar which sparked my interest.
We planted far too many potatoes (in my opinion!) as my husband decided
that a 25KG sack of seed potatoes was cheaper than buying two 5KG boxes
as we have done for the last few years. (Stan, I don't know what you'll
think of that - cheap but not lazy as there was significantly more work
involved!) We will have to harvest them soon and I have no idea at all
as to how to keep a large quantity of potatoes from rotting and/or
sprouting over the time it will take for us to eat our way through a
couple of hundred KG's of potatoes. We probably don't eat more than 5KG
a week! After growing the darn things, we'd like to get some benefit
from them instead of giving them away. Any tips and suggestions will be
gratefully accepted.
Cheers for now
Sue (in a hot and sunny South Africa)
