I also have the American Harvester food dehydrator. I used the roma type
tomatoes and cut them in half and places them cut side down on the trays. I
also tried scooping the seeds out of the center to see if it made a
difference in the drying time. It really didn't make that much difference
since these tomatoes have more pulp than seeds and juice. I usually can my
regular tomatoes, although, now I think I'll try freezing.
