Boiled for 7 minutes????   Never!!!!

Kale is strictly winter food.  After the second or third frost it can be
eaten raw in slaws or salads.  It's also good steamed like any other
green.  Top with butter, bacon, vinegar, or whatever your favorite
happens to be.  You should never boil a cruciferous vegetable except
when blanching to freeze.  (Boil to blanch, steam to cook.)  Boiling
deadens the flavor and removes the vitamin C.  (These plants, like all
crucifera, are very high in vitamins A and C, folate and have decent
amount of minerals and other vitamins.)
