Thanks for the very thorough advice. At least I was on the right track,
that the white stalk would only develop if it was underground. Now my
problem is should I dig up all those little leeks to replant them in nice
deep holes? I don't have any potato fields to replace them into, but I
guess they won't do very well as they are.
I visited your allotment website. Your garden is very nice; I love to look
at pictures of gardens. We have 1 1/2 acres of land around our home, but
my husband likes grass, so it's an uphill battle to get gardens started
around here.
