Re: broccoli sprouts

Evonne,

We make sprouts all the time using a "tube" that comes with various
screens. It was really inexpensive and makes the process somewhat
easier.

I'm a little suspicious of the "10 to 100 times" figure quoted for
broccoli sprouts, which I've also heard from other sources. Is this by
dry matter weight? If so, then a big handful of sprouts would only be a
couple of grams of dry matter weight, whereas a full-grown broccoli
plants would have several grams of dry matter per serving. Just a
thought.

And, BTW, I *still* owe you some squash seeds. Don't worry, you won't
be able to plant them for 5 or 6 weeks yet which gives me time to get
them to you!
