I haven't had any damage since I started planting a row of onions between
two rows of carrots. This also controls onion maggots. A excellant
all-around carrot for me is *Sweetness II* in my area (zone 4/5). I deep
work light sandy loam with lots of organic material. I have gone to
pelletized carrot seed the last two years. Easier to plant and no
thinning necessary.
