Hi, your plants would rot or turn to lsime if they drowned in the rain.
Give them some time to recover. If you planted seeds, they won't come up
if ruined! You can try to dig some of the larger ones and see if they are
rotted, but after 14 days they should be alright. Heavy rains can move the
lighter seeds, so you may have some come up a little ways away from where
they were planted.

Vinegar in a very weak solution, but it has to be sprayed directly on the
slug.

normal?
Worms are good, if they are earthworms. Ask your extension agent about the
dead ones.
>5. When should I fertilize?
Depends on the crop. The soil should have been prepared with some
fertilizer to begin with, and then you add more later, depending on the crop.

Cabbage fly maggots - your plants will start wilting. Watch for the white
butterfly that lays the eggs around your plants.
>7. Has anyone had any success growing watermelon and canteloupe from seed?
Yes; I have grown canteloupe - very easy in my area, but I didn't fertilize
it correctly and the plants yielded perfect, but miniature, fruits!
