I have a "winter" pear tree next to my garden, so I hope I can ask
this question here. I'm not sure what kind of pears they are--very old
trees--but I understand they were always taken into the cellar for a while
and came into ripeness. I wonder if there are ways to cook them like
apples--for example, baked or made into sauce. Has anyone tried this? I
love crisps and other deserts like that, but I'd be better off eating
something less fattening. TIA for any help.Judy Warner
