Donna,
Topping your tree would be a very bad thing to do. Tree topping damages the
tree in ways that may never be able to be corrected.

Subject: Cypress Tree Question
Is anybody there?
I don't believe I've read a post on this list in quite awhile. Well,
I've got a question.
We have a fairly large Cypress tree in our back yard (probable 18 to
20 ft. tall) and my husband and I were discussing it the other day and
he suggested we "top" it.
The problem is, we don't know when to do this or how much to cut from
the top. We surely don't want to damage the tree in any way.
So, your thoughts and suggestions are welcome.
