What you saw was probably:
Spiraea thunbergii 'Ogon' (syn. 'Mellow Yellow'). I can't tell you about
hardiness, but "Google" the internet and you will find more information.


I did do quick Google - sounds hardy enough for me, I was wondering about habits, poor personality traits......
