That's how I felt 5 years ago. I love this plant,
but it definitely needs to be grown in a more
"wild" setting. I have a 70 x 100 lot. It grows
(mostly, when I get it to cooperate) on my
chain link fence, about 60' long) Its quite the
show in the spring, and the foliage is lovely,
bronzey/green. But I have to spend about 1
hour a week keeping it tied to the fence all
summer long or it grows into and strangles
everything in or near it. I just can't justify 3
weeks of flowers for 15-20 hours of tieing,
cutting, unstrangling. If you have an area it can
"take over" I would recommend it. Or if you're
able to spend more than 10 hours a week in
your yard and willing to devote that time to
controlling it. It is lovely, you're right!
