A lot of good germination info can be found in:

Subject: Betula seed germination
Does anyone have first-hand experience with Betula (birch) seeds? I've
tried many different batches of different small-sized species, and all I've
ever gotten is a single seedling of B. glandulosa.
Some have been stratified (8 weeks), some haven't; some have been kept
dark, others under lights.
I would welcome any suggestions.
