Jose,
Out of sheer curiosity as I've never heard of this species, I did a search
in the GRIN Taxonomy species database on the web for Cornus; it lists all
the species they have and C. hongkongensis was listed. Following is what
was written - copied and pasted from their web page:

Name verified on 07-Sep-1995 by Systematic Botany Laboratory. Last updated:
22-May-1997.
No species priority site assigned. 1 accessions (by country).
Protologue: J. Linn. Soc., Bot. 23:345. 1888.
Species range:
Zhejiang, China [east]; Jiangxi, China [south]; Fujian, China; Hunan, China
[south]; Guangxi, China; Sichuan, China; Guizhou, China; Yunnan, China;
Hong Kong
Species citations:

(Hemsley) Hutch.].
..............................
Doesn't tell you about what the plant looks like or its growing
requirements, but at least lets you know such a plant exists!
