   Southern Perennials and Herbs has 3 Salix varieties, and Salix chaenomeloides
sounds a bit like your lovely without the hairy leaves.

I saw a beutiful willow at Harlow Carr in the UK, unfortunately it was
unlabeled. It was shruby about 15 feet tall with silver, hairy leaves. Do
you know of a similar willow hardy in zone 7b with hot humid summers. I can
site it by a pond.
