There have to be copies available out there. Somewhere. Timber cannot
help? Isn't there a Timber Press person who lurks on this list?
I've read the book cover to cover a half dozen times. And keep it handy
for references on everything from the use of colchicine, to nomenclature,
to just to muse over the pictures. And it is in the same style as the
crabapple book.
Does anyone out there have access to Syringa oblata var. donaldii? Fiala
raved about the possibilities in this material, but then Don Egolf (the
breeder at the US National Arboretum working with this newly collected
material) died (an auto accident, I believe). Did donaldii ever reach
commerce?
