actually used, will you? Got my curiosity up here.
You could use a wood trellis, like that stock lattice, if the
distance wasn't too long - it would stick to that, but it's not
really strong enough for a lot of weight.

Sounds perfect. I knew a trellis wasn't quite right. The funny
thing is
(and consider the source) in my memory she used guide wires or
something and
I kept thinking that made no sense since it was a suckerer not a
twiner...
Anyway, I hope to get to her garden myself in July so perhaps I can
check
out the specimen and it's training first hand!
