Re: kalmia


I have two mountain laurels , both planted on the north side jof my garage
in shade almost all year.  ONly in late spring/early summer do they get
any sun and they bloom great.  One is Olympic Fire.  I don't know the
other cultivar.  Mine are not gangly, in fact, they are quite dense.  The
only problem is that they should be staked (but not covered) in the winter
as wet snow and ice bends them over.  I've had no problems w/ winter burn
from the cold winds, either.  good luck.
