I am currently growing two baby fothergillas of the Blue Mist strain.
These are now in bloom, nice white fragrant bottle brush type blooms.
plants are still quite small-under 1 foot, but they were very small when
planted and have only been in one grwoing season. Micheal Dirr indicates
that the Blue Mist does not have such spectacular fall color as some
others and mine certainly didn't last year. But the summer foliage is
blue colored and that is nice. Mine are growing in partial shade. The
plant at the nursery where I bought
mine is in bloom now also, and is about three feet tall. I have no idea
how old it is. IMHO, this is another very nice shryb.
