Taylor,
After watching this tuber for a few more weeks, there are DEFINITELY four
large and three small buds, all sprouting vigorously. No "dominant" bud.
Has anyone had experience with this? Does anyone know if allowing several
buds to grow will result in my prized Goliath tuber splitting into multiple
little Davids?

Mitch,
they are tubers...
There is a dominant bud that normally keeps the others from growing! I
don't think you would have multiple shoots (leafs) on one tuber!! you
should have just the one big tuber!1 But who knows it will take its own
course!
