When Typhonium venosum grows outdoors, spider mites never attack it.

Also remember these things are spider mite magnets. I can't keep them alive here in Phoenix since I don't have a wet greenhouse and the highest constant humidity I can manage is about 40% on a good day.
By the way, some of the commoner Amorphophallus do just fine here in low humidity in full shade.
