Friends,
If you happen to be in Manhattan this evening, there is no other place a
community gardener should be. We even have food and drink.
Best wishes,
Adam Honigman

PARKS 2001 COMMUNITY GARDEN FORUM TONITE AT 6:30
Hi Everyone,
The Parks 2001 Garden Forum tonite is promising to be an awesome opportunity
to hear many of the leaders shaping the current campaigns for garden and
park
preservation and funding. This is an opportunity to collectively join forces
in the remaining days before the fall election and outline strategies that
will elect leaders with a vision for quality urban planning. Please have
your
garden represented!
Heading the program will be Tim Tompkins, Co-campaign Manager of Parks 2001.
He will be speaking on what Parks 2001 can do for community gardens and how
your community garden can play an important role in the campaign.
In light of the current divisive statements of Mayor Giuliani, Patrick
Markee, Coalition for the Homeless, will address the erroneous housing vs.
gardens issue. The program will also include Alban Calderon of Trust for
Public Land; Brian Sahd, New York Restoration Project; Francoise Cachelin,
NYC Community Garden Coalition; Doron Comerchero, GreenThumb and Community
Gardeners - Jon Crow (Brooklyn), Karen Washington (Bronx) and Margaret B.
Moore (Queens). The program will end with an open floor question and answer
session.
See you Tonite!
