Two Positions Available Immediately
Rio Grande Community Farms is seeking two individuals with strong organic
farming and volunteer development skills. Community food security
experience preferred.
Rio Grande Community Farms is a community-based non-profit organization
that manages an urban farm in Albuquerque, N.M. The Farms' mission is to
use a working organic farm to demonstrate sustainable connections between
urban farmland, wildlife, and people. The Farm has 3 fulltime and 1 part
time employees who work as a team.
The Farm's priorities are:
Grow local, organic food in cooperation with low-income communities
Demonstrate irrigation efficiency
Create and maintain wildlife habitat
Partner with community groups for projects
One position is responsible for:
Farming 100 acres of field crops and 3-5 acres of vegetables
Provides training for volunteers, interns, and novice gardeners
Marketing produce
One position is responsible for:
Developing a Community Garden Program
Training Community Garden participants
Volunteer recruitment and training
Salary : $24,000/yr
