RE: FW: Woodwardia name wanted

I have a list of medicinal species that were catalogued on Emei
Mtn......there have been a few new species discovered there since this list
was made and there is always the possibility for more to be
discovered.....and of course, this is just a list of ones that are known to
be medicinal, though the Chinese use so many plants that the medicinal
species of some genera include all the species of that genera in China. But
anyways, for what it's worth, this list has 2 species of Woodwardia listed,
so those are possible names for your plant. They have W. japonica and W.
unigemmata listed.

I would be grateful for help in identification of a Woodwardia I have had
given to me. The label says "Woodwardia sp Mt OMEI (or W. ORIENTALIS? )".
It is a large and vigorous fern with fronds over a metre long. Undoubtedly
a Woodwardia it has bright red juvenile foliage, a bud near the end of the
frond and the whole is nicely crispy in appearance with undulating edges to
the pinnae. Thanks, Alan Ogden (UK).
