I've done the same thing as Andrea, not in pots but just moving the offsets to other parts of the yard. I've never had any problem with their rooting.

Cathy, Yucca sprouts very easily from root cuttings (or I guess maybe they're rhizomes..) So separating them from the mother plant and potting them for a little while should be OK. Jims Fischer & Singer, does that sound correct? I created many new varigated Yuccas from root cuttings. It has a number of offsets that I thought I would dig and move elsewhere. But when I tried, the offsets had no roots. They were simply connected to the parent plant by a thick ? rhizome. Any suggestions on the best way to separate and ensure offset survival?
