Re: Tower

Yeah- they are an OK records store. I prefer The Beat (new and used)- has more variety or Rasputin (also new and used) for music. Even Dimple is pretty good. I guess I like all the quirky used stuff that shows up from who knows where.... And at bargain prices!! Important when you are a music junky like me- I must own more than 500 CDs, plus who know how many tapes from the 80s and earlier! Ah, and now there is music to download.......

One of the considerable benefits of living in Sacramento during the 70s and 80s was the ability to rummage in the stacks of the original Tower Records store. It was a one of a kind experience--searching for recordings with the aid of a salesperson who actually knew something about each of the various option available [and about some the were not available]. So, it is with great sadness that I read that Tower is now entering bankruptcy for the second time in nearly as many years.
