That's probably what I mean. Molded rubber bottom on an orange/yellow top. It was the shoe/boot that launched to company and, yes, I think they quit selling them.

No, I have the original Bean boots. I can't believe they'd stop making those, I think that was their original product that got the company going. They aren't stylish but I don't give a roaring rat's rump when I am tryingto stay warm. On 12/22/08, james singer <inlandjim1@q.com> wrote:Pam--Have you got a pair of those Bean's "funny shoes"? I used to have them, and was all set to get another pair, but apparently they don't make them anymore. They were called, I think, "Bean's Original Hunting Shoe," andthey were really great for slogging through this white stuff. Wet feet weren't so badthis time because despite the snow it barely got below 30.My sister was stuck for 3 days at her house, she lives about an hour from me but higher elevation. Her big hay shader collapsed from the snow load with the tractor underneath, her 4x4 couldn't get any traction and there was too much snow for anything else to move. No one on her street could get out either. I told her I didn't have a lot of sympathy, she'sgot 5 horses that could be saddled up, she could have gone riding. Pickedacouple of low areas. Very unofficial 7 inches on the ground. Over thetopsof any shoes I own, so I won't be venturing any further unless I did outthegaiters I used to wear cross country skiing. Home sick from work, thecold Ipicked up last week is worse. At least I don't feel guilty skipping thedrive down the hill. ----- Original Message ----- From: "james singer" <inlandjim1@q.com> To: <gardenchat@hort.net> Sent: Monday, December 22, 2008 8:37 AM Subject: Re: [CHAT] More weatherWe're getting snow again this AM. Now we have a ground cover of snow, ice, snow. And the paper sez it will keep up like this until afterCmas.Last night we lost a fair-sized limb off one of the big incensecedars inthe back yard and a neighbor's maple is now bending over the fenceandtouching down on our deck; it doesn't look like it's broken, however.Biglimbs on one of the oak trees in the park across the street are benttothe ground. Some nearby areas have lost power. Our utilities areunderground so with a little luck we'll be spared outages; it's notimeto be without power. Here inSoCal the snow is pretty much melted - we had at least 10" - there areafew spots left but it is supposed to rain today, that will be theend ofit. It won't be quite so picturesque but at least when it's overtherewon't be a continual drip off the roof. In addition to all thebrokentree limbs, we noticed another casualty while driving to worktoday...there are loose Botts dots all over the freeway, no doubt the snowplows took them out. Since California is pretty much bankrupt I'mguessing it will be a while before those get replaced. It is very windy with dark dark clouds now in advance of the rain. We're supposed to see this same stuff for the rest of the week.
