I've been enjoying this thread. Some of my ancestors were from the south. Stonewall Jackson is some sort of cousin to "my" Jacksons. Almost all of these sayings are common in my family. I'll swan is the only one so far that isn't. How about "tighter than a tick", "knee high to a grasshopper","Bright as a new penny", "sweet as cream", and in the ewww category "slicker'n snot"?
