[GWL]: Your web page

If any of you have personal author web pages, you may be aware that there 
are some new bits of software that alter your html coding.

Microsoft has a "smart tag" that refers folks to other pages and while MS 
has said they have disabled this feature in the millenium edition ....

The one that is much harder to stop is one that is sweeping the Net right 
now (Ezula, Kazaa) and there are literally millions of downloads of this 
one.  This browser add-on works to highlight key words on your site and 
turn them into links.  In other words, if I am an advertiser and want to 
purchase the word "garden" from Ezula, then every time you put the word 
"garden" on your website, the kazaa software turns that word into a link 
that if your visitor uses/clicks will take them to my site.  Kazaa hijacks 
your visitors and turns your copyright into mush. ;-)

  Not only that, but it is spyware. It sends a complete history of your 
browser activities back to the ezula homesite.  Do NOT load this software 
into your system.  There are reports that the spyware component of the 
software does not unload even after you've unloaded the actual program.  I 
can't speak to the truth of this but some pretty high powered folks are 
making this accusation.  You can learn more about it from 
http://www.searchking.com/ezulakiller   This site also has the code to 
enter into your site to prevent ezula from accessing your code.

Naturally, this is only a problem if you have your own website. :-)

The question I have for you is that if you are an author - why don't you 
have a website? :-)))
