One bright spot -
* Etera is back in business. The company, which filed for Chapter 11
bankruptcy on July 27, has been purchased by M.V. Greenhouse, a
company that lent it startup funds. Etera has started to add employees to
its newest Mabton production facility as well as 2 of its Skagit County
sites, said Bruce Gibson, Etera's v.p. of operations and production.
Additional rehiring of seasonal, management and supervisory personnel
at the 3 locations was expected. M.V. is only buying the production
facilities. Etera's Internet division, which serviced more than 1,700
garden centers, will be sold separately. Sources: Yakima Herald-
