Re: email hijack
I feel for you, Lorraine. My website email account and the gmail account to which the website mail was forwarded were both highjacked last spring. What a violation. It happened around 9 in the morning, and by 11 when I found out, the hijackers had already changed my passwords so I had no access to anything, and it took gmail several days to acknowledge that I was the account's rightful owner. What did I do? Well, I no longer use gmail. I still have the same webhost, Network Solutions, but I plan to change that when my paid-for hosting time runs out and probably before. My web person (I have one now) sent me a link describing some hacking there http://blog.sucuri.net/2010/04/network-solutions-hacked-again.html My new passwords are more complicated than the old ones. I also keep several backups of my address book and my hard drive, things that I considered unnecessary before this happened. I wish I had something wise to say but I don't. I use a Mac Pro, so this can happen to a
nyone, not just PC users. It seems that there are programs "out there" that do nothing but try out passwords 24 hours a day. I think Kirk Brown also has experience with this and may be able to advise the group.
Best of luck going forward,
Penny
