I love my digging knife - there are many times when I can accomplish almost all of my garden
tasks with only that one tool. But for those with wrist strain there is another tool that I've
found invaluable, and that is the Fist Grip trowel made by Peta. It, too changes the muscles you
use - no twisting of anything as you are mostly using the stronger upper arm muscles to dig with.
Most of the neighborhood have used mine and want it. It makes great sense as a way to dig - more
so than the traditional tools - whether you have a handicap or not.
If you DO have weak wrists or forearms the tools by Earth BudEze are perfect as they not only
make use of the stronger muscles in the upper arms but also provide a brace of sorts for the
forearm.
I use the FistGrip tool most because it is the easiest to grab and use but if my fibro attacks
the arms then I use the Earth BudEze.
But when I need to dig in any but my raised bed I make sure to have the Japanese digging knife
along as well - I garden in rocks and need it's strength to get out the big stuff.
Give me those and some great pruning shears and loppers and I'm ready to garden!
