Rose Marie Nichols McGee merits a round of applause for her beautiful new 
catalog.  I think the cover is prettier than any I've seen them print in 
the past 30 years.  She quotes her father, who established Nichols Garden 
Nursery, saying "Nothing can equal the sense of accomplishment of growing 
hundreds of pounds of vegetables from a few ounces of seeds...."

I know that for a fact. I thought we were doing well to grow about 4 
bushels of butternut squash from four hills a few years ago, but a friend 
grew 588 pounds of butternut squash from 2 seeds!  Okay, Lon, that's all 
about gardening.  For now.  Margaret Lauterbach
