Re: Invincibelle 'Spirit' (Pink Annabelle Hydrangea) - Ideas wanted
Tim,
How about donating plants to be given to winners of breast cancer related
walks or races. This would generate publicity (photos with the winner
required) and hopefully donations.
Some of these are: (There are many more throughout the country)...
Susan G. Komen's Race for a Cure (along with several other events they
have) - http://ww5.komen.org/GetInvolved/KomenRacefortheCure.html
Y-ME Race to Empower -
http://race.y-me.org/site/PageServer?pagename=MDE_CHI_homepage
National Breast Cancer Marathon -
http://www.breastcancermarathon.com/run/race-weekend-events/
Avon Walk for Breast Cancer -
http://walk.avonfoundation.org/site/PageServer?pagename=walk_homepage
Or, publicizing your company will donate $1 (or whatever) to go for breast
cancer research for every plant purchased.
Of course, I also like the idea of garden writers trial testing the plant. I
am a breast cancer survivor, so writing about this connection would be a
natural if the plant performs here in Clarkston, Michigan. Possibly other
garden writers have this connection themselves or have family or friends
with breast cancer.
