Re: Chicken Feed Marigolds
We raised a few chickens- at one time up to 500 free range layers. They were
considered 'free-range' in that they weren't in cages; roosts one side,
laying boxes on the other. In good weather, they had a large out doors pen
they could scratch about in. When they were outdoors the yolks were quite
yellow. Indoors, in the winter, the yolks became very pale. In Ottawa, where
we had our egg route, many folks preferred the paler yolks.
Never heard of marigolds as a yolk enhancer.
