Re: crediting the gardener (was photo releases)


Yes Chris, that is exactly what I meant. I certainly meant no disrespect to 
photographers or editors. In any profession there are folks that shine much 
more brightly than others- and one would expect they reap the greater 
recognition and receive more money for their work.
However, neither the skill of the photographer nor the fruits of the 
gardener's efforts are the issue.

I think this centres around the intent of the individuals involved. Why was 
the plant grown or garden designed and why was the photograph taken? What 
happens when the gardener feels the photographer has affected his ability to 
earn money from that plant/garden?

The wee bit of websearch I did certainly indicates there is room for 
supportive arguments on both sides.
